The University of Cadiz celebrates the First Edition of the Official Master in Nautical and Subaquatic Archaeology

With a full auditorium, the University of Cadiz celebrated the 25th October the First Edition of the Official Master in Nautical and Subaquatic Archaeology in the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature.
Miguel Ángel Pendón, vice rector of Planning of the UCA, along with Fidel Echevarría, director of the International School of Doctorate in Sea studies and the coordinator of this master, Xavier Nieto, have presided the opening. Eduardo Balguerías, director of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography, imparted the opening speech “The subaquatic archaeology as a multidisciplinary science”.
With a total of 30 vacancies in its first edition, this master have received over 90 applications (44 men and 47 women), being the first option of 75 of them. It must be mentioned that the applications come from 14 different countries from Europe, Africa, Asia and America: Afghanistan, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, United States, Spain, Finland, Italy, Morocco, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic and Romania. Within Spain, people from 13 Autonomous Community.
This master is composed by a common unit, the specified units divided in three itineraries (Documental written resources for the nautical and subaquatic archaeology, Nautical and subaquatic archaeology in the antiquity and Nautical and subaquatic archaeology in the Middle and Modern Ages) besides the internships and the Final Master Project.
