CEI·MAR arises with the primary objective to internationalize the teaching, research and transfer activity in marine and maritime theme of the aggregation. The result of this strong commitment have developed numerous actions aimed at promoting the international character of the campus, founded on numerous agreements of collaboration. These agreements are in line to promote international mobility of incoming and outgoing participants, participate in competitive calls for research and innovation projects and the creation of international double degrees with prestigious international universities.

The creation of the Seal of Excellence CEI·MAR comes to distinguish those institutions that are reference for CEI·MAR, and with which it shares values, visions and results. CEI·MAR wants distinguished by the values, visions and the results of those facing the same voyage. This is a distinction, a recognition for the value they bring to CEI·MAR; while also CEI·MAR wants to be recognized in these institutions, distinguished by the value of its partners. Currently they have been worthy of this stamp the University of Ferrara in Italy, and the Autonomous University of Mexico.
